Abstract: Communication: Stable nanostructured networks of quantum-sized particles have been prepared (see Figure) using self-assembly techniques. Here, two new techniques are reported for the preparation of non-metallic composite materials comprising nanometer-sized gold particles self assembled into a 3-D network by means of organic dithiols.
