Abstract: In the last several years, significant advances have been made in the understanding of male erectile dysfunction. However, more epidemiologic research is essential to further understand the distribution and the prevalence of erectile dysfunction in certain ethnic groups, chronic conditions, and as a result of surgery and trauma. These studies will help to improve diagnostic skills as well as therapeutic options.
